As well as the usual pilgrimages, in Majorca (Mallorca) contests and meetings are held for ancient local sports and also purely pagan feasts. The revetla (a night of fiesta with bonfires as the main part), the Moros i Cristians (Moors and Christians) of Soller and Pollença (Pollensa), the carnival of Porreres -with its perfect ritual- trotting races in Capdepera and shooting competitions with catapults and poetry contests in Sant Joan and Sa Pobla, respectively, are extremely interesting spectacles

JANUARY
January 5 : The Three Kings gathering, main fiesta in Palma but also in the local towns as this is a great part of the Christmas celebrations.
January 16 : The fiesta of 'San Antonio Abad' : colcades, foguerons, cavallets and traditional dances. Of an evening large bonfires are lit and locals dress up and dance around them. This is celebrated mainly in Sa Pobla, Arta, Costitx, Manacor and Sant Joan. In Sa Pobla the traditional savory cakes are made called 'Espinegades', which are a little like Pizza slices
January 17 : The fiesta of 'Beneides de Sant Antoni' is celebrated mainly in Palma, Costitx, Manacor, Sa Pobla and Petra. Pollensa celebrates 'Pi de Sant Antoni'.
January 19 : The fiesta of ' Revetla de Sant Sebastia' : more bonfires are lit as people gather around them and join in the festivities. Celebrated mainly in Palma and Costitx.
January 20 : The fiestas of 'Sant Sebastia' patron of Palma, are celebrated in Palma. In Pollensa the fiesta of 'Sant Sebastia' is celebrated with a Procession where an image of the Saint is carried around the town.
January 21 : Popular Fiestas are celebrated in Santa Agnes.
FEBRUARY
CARNAVAL : Carnaval fiestas are celebrated throughout the month of February in all the towns across Mallorca (Majorca). The spectacular processions of floats with children as well as families dressed up are known as 'Sa Rua' and some of the most popular towns to see these are Palma, Playa de Palma and Palma Nova - Magaluf.
February 12 : Popular Fiestas are celebrated in Santa Eularia.
MARCH
Easter Week : Known as 'Semana Santa'. Sineu celebrates Easter Friday with a traditional Procession. Pollensa also celebrates Easter Friday with it's typical fiesta named 'Davallament'. Palma and other towns celebrate the fiestas known as 'Pancaritat' or 'Fiesta del Angel' (Fiesta of the Angel).
March 19 : Popular Fiestas are celebrated in Sant Josep.
APRIL
April 2 : Popular Fiestas are celebrated in Sant Francesc.
April 5 : Popular Fiestas are celebrated in Sant Vicenc de sa Cala.
April 23 : Popular Fiestas are celebrated in Sant Jordi.
MAY
Second Sunday of the Month : The fiestas of 'Festes de Moros i Cristians' , 'Ses Valentes Dones' are celebrated mainly in Soller to celebrate the victory in 1561 over the Turkish pirates.
JUNE
June 13 : The fiestas of 'Sant Antoni de Juny' are celebrated in Arta with the participation of the traditional 'cavallets'. The fiesta of Corpus Christi, 'Ball de les Aguiles' is also celebrated in Pollensa.
June 24 : The fiestas of 'Sant Joan' are celebrated in Muro with the traditional Revetla, bulls, theatre performances and more. In Sant Joan the fiesta of 'Festa del sol que balla' is also celebrated with processions, typical dances and more.
June 29 : The patron fiestas of 'Sant Pere' are celebrated in Palma, Puerto Alcudia and Andratx with seaside processions.
June 30 : The fiesta of 'Romeria de Sant Marcal' is celebrated in Marratxi with the exhibition and market of 'siurells' and other typical ceramic pots and ornaments.
JULY
July 2 : The fiesta of 'Romeria a la Virgen de la Victoria' is a typical pilgrimage celebrated in Alcudia.
July (15) 16 : The fiestas of 'Verge del Carme' are celebrated mainly in Port d'Andratx, Cala Ratjada, Soller and Puerto Pollensa with a night time seaside procession in honour of the patron of marines and fishermen.
July 25 : The fiestas of 'Sant Jaume ' are celebrated in mainly in Alcudia, Calvia, Binissalem, Muro, Santanyi and Portocolom with the typical 'colcada' where horses are ridden around the town.
Last Sunday of the month : Popular Fiestas are celebrated in Fornells.
July 28 : The fiestas of 'Santa Catalina Thomas' are celebrated in mainly in Valldemossa with the typical 'Carro de la Beata' being shown around the streets followed by other floats.
AUGUST
August 2 : The fiesta of 'Ntra Sra dels Angels' simulating the battle of the 'Moors and Christians' is celebrated in Pollensa.
August 10 : The patron fiestas of 'Sant Llorenc' are celebrated in Selva.
August 23 & 24 : The patron fiestas of 'Sant Bartomeu' with the typical 'Cossiers' are celebrated in Algaida and Montuiri.
August 24 : The patron fiestas of 'Sant Bartomeu' with the typical horse races is celebrated in Capdepera and Arta.
August 28 : The fiesta of 'Sant Agusti' is celebrated in Felanitx with medieval dancing of the typical 'Cavallets'.
August 29 : Patron fiestas are celebrated in Sant Joan.
SEPTEMBER
September 3 : The fiesta of 'Processo de la Beata' is celebrated in Santa Margalida.
September 21 : The fiesta of 'Sant Mateu' is celebrated in Bunyola.
Last Sunday of the month : The fiesta of 'Festa des Vermar' is celebrated in Binissalem which is a harvest festival with 'boleros' and other traditional dances
OCTOBER
First Sunday of the month : The fiesta of 'Torrada d'es Botifarro' is celebrated in Sant Joan where typical sausages are made and cooked on open fires, as well as performing regional traditional dances named 'xeremies i capgrossos'.
Third Saturday of the month : Typical fiestas are celebrated in Palma dedicated to Santa Catalina Tomas 'La Beateta '. Procession with floats where many towns from across the island participate.
NOVEMBER
Dijous Bo : The largest and most popular fair of the island is celebrated in Inca.
November 30 : The patron fiesta of 'Sant Andreu' is celebrated in Santanyi.
DECEMBER
December 24/25 : Families in towns across the island celebrate the traditional 'Christmas' with Santa Claus.
December 31 : Aside from traditional New Years Eve celebrations being celebrated across the island, the fiesta of 'l'Estandard' is celebrated in Palma which celebrates the the Christian conquest of the city by King Jaime I in 1229.
